Top Five Things to Do When Visiting Nashville

Published by gracies12 on

When planning a trip to Nashville, there are always lots of activities and food options to look through. We have compiled a list of 5 things that all bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, or big groups need to try when visiting Nash!

1. See a Show

As the heart of country music, Nashville boasts a thriving music scene that’s impossible to ignore. One thing everyone should experience is the Grand Ole Opry. I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about this, but it is truly one of the most beautiful and timeless experiences. This historic venue has hosted countless country music legends and continues to showcase both established stars and up-and-coming talent. The Opry offers tours during the day and unforgettable performances at night.

Recently, I saw Carrie Underwood perform there, and it was one of the best shows I’ve gotten to see while here in Nashville! Not only did I get to see Carrie, but the Riders in the Sky played. I had not heard of them before, but they are known for their iconic tune of “Woody’s Round Up” and “How Does He Yodel.” Both were incredible to watch amongst other artists that made the whole night a blast! If you come to Nashville for your bachelorette or bachelor party, then you have to come to see a show at the Grand Ole Opry!

2. Learn the History

Continuing the music train, you must visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. This museum is in the downtown area, and it is full of fun things to see. The museum itself has tons of exhibits related to…you guessed it, country music! They also have family programs for people with kids or younger individuals, and they even have a Taylor Swift education center. In addition to the main museum, they have activities like touring Studio B, the studio where Elvis Presley recorded his music, Stories Behind the Songs, Waylon’s Way, and more! This is a great activity for country music lovers, and it has tons of room and adaptability for those bigger bachelorette/bachelor groups!

3. Take a Walk on Lower Broadway

After finishing an afternoon at the Country Music Hall of Fame, you can easily head over to Broadway. Lower Broadway is a bustling hub of activity, filled with neon lights, live music pouring out of honky-tonk bars, and delicious Southern cuisine. Stroll down the street and pop into one of the many bars to catch some live tunes. Be sure to try the hot chicken, a Nashville specialty known for its fiery kick.

PhotoOne of my all-time favorite places on Broadway is Mattheessen’s Ice Cream, Cookies, and Fudge. This cute shop is located at the very end of Broadway near Hard Rock Café, and it has the biggest and best cookies and fudge in the area. Whether you go before hitting the bars or after, it never fails to hit the spot. This is truly a hidden gem, and you need to try their cookies during your visit.

4. Visit the Parthenon

If you are looking for a less crazy, daytime activity, you need to walk around Nashville’s Centennial Park. Centennial is home to a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Inside, you’ll find an art museum showcasing a stunning collection of American paintings, as well as the impressive 42-foot-tall statue of Athena Parthenos. The park itself is a beautiful place for a stroll or a picnic. Centennial is also a great place for my bachelorettes to come and take cute, insta worthy pictures as well as embrace your inner Taylor Swift!Parthenon (Nashville) - Wikipedia

5. Experience the Food Scene

The final place you must try is King Siam. If you like Thai Asian Fusion at all, you need to check them out. They are located near Edgehill, and they have the best Pad Thai in the area. King Siam is a hole in the wall restaurant next to McDougal’s, and they go above and beyond with their service and product. When you step inside, they are welcoming and excited to serve you. They have a full bar and a wide range of Asian food offerings. The flavors are incredible, and the service is quick. This is a must try for any bachelorette or bachelor party visiting Nashville!
